Margaret Rocky is a Kuku Yalanji woman. In 2008, she completed her Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts. She is motivated by her family and community and uses art as a legacy to leave for her family and grandchildren. Her art is heavily inspired by the rainforest and the traditional ways of her ancestors - especially her grandmother and grandfather. She especially enjoys depicting birds in her art as they represent her totems, the Cockatoo and the Cassowary.
