About the artist
Name: Margaret Rocky

Community: Mossman
Margaret Rocky is a Kuku Nyungkal/Yalanji and Kaantju woman.
Her inspirations come from the rainforest and ocean environments. Many of her fabrics and ceramics show woven baskets, which she used to weave when she was younger. The elders of my her passed on important cultural knowledge as well as everyday life stories, which she incorporates into her artwork.

Yalanji Arts is a 100% Aboriginal owned art centre located in the Mossman Gorge Aboriginal community. The centre specialises in screen printed textiles, handcrafted ceramics and prints on paper, with all works celebrating the culture and deep respect, knowledge and connection to the richly diverse rainforest and ocean environments of Kuku Yalanji Country.
Care instructions
Gentle wash only in cool water. Do not soak, bleach, rub, wring or tumble dry. Line dry in shade. Warm iron on reverse. Do not dry clean.
