Aboriginal name: Winden (green pigeon). Melanie Hava’s family background is one interesting and diverse cultures: her father comes from the oldest city in Austria, Enns (Upper Austria) and her mother is a Mamu Aboriginal woman, Dulgu-barra and Wari-barra family groups, from the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland and the adjoining Great Barrier Reef sea country. Reef and rainforest country are important sources of inspiration in Melanie’s work.
