Artist statement

'The life cycle of butterflies is one of nature’s most fascinating sequence of events, with each stage spectacular in its own way. One of the most wonderful moments to witness is the sheer determination and vulnerability of the butterfly emerging from its chrysalis.'

About the artist

Amanda Emmett is a Cairns-based artist who predominantly works in the media of painting and photography.
Amanda Emmett encourages us to consider positive actions we can take that will lead to remedy and renewal of our world before it is all too late.
Emmett’s beautifully detailed paintings focus on life forms that are barely surviving the threats that human increasingly pose to them. This artwork is featured in Emmett's solo Collector's Exhibition, view here.

Purchase of original art directly supports the artist. Artwork is a unique, one-off piece created by hand and may contain marks or blemishes from the studio.
