About the artist
James Morrison was born and raised in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Morrison’s childhood experiences of the tropical PNG landscape play a significant role in his creation of colourful, imaginary landscapes and mysterious narratives. Goodenough Bay 1959 references an event in 1959, when there was a mass sighting of UFOs in Goodenough Bay, PNG. The local pastor who reported the event said there were figures on top of the craft waving to the people below.
