New Zealand-born artist Euan Macleod moved to Australia in 1981. Based in Sydney, he established himself as an important artist, winning the coveted Archibald Prize in 1999, the Sulman Prize in 2001, and the Blake Prize in 2006. Macleod has travelled extensively. Between 2009 and 2012 he travelled around far north Queensland, and his works on paper from this period are an extraordinary visual diary of life in the tropics.
